𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 (German and English version below) 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 est une initiative de l'𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐞.𝐕., qui est composée de jeunes d'Afrique, d'Amérique du Sud et d'Asie, vivant pour la plupart en Allemagne, au Bénin, en France, au Cameroun et au Togo. Du 31 juillet au 10 octobre 2021, dans le cadre du 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐭 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐩𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐚 𝐝é𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜é 𝐩𝐚𝐫 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐭 𝐟ü𝐫 𝐝𝐢𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐭, nous réalisons un concours d'écriture. L'objectif de ce concours est d'encourager les jeunes d'origine africaine vivant en Afrique et en Europe à réfléchir sur les thèmes liés aux systèmes politiques et de la démocratie sur le continent africain sous forme écrite. Ce projet part du principe que nous sommes au cœur d'une crise politique mondiale. Dans la plupart des pays, on assiste à une montée de la méfiance à l'égard des élites politiques et des gouvernements. L'incapacité à s'adapter aux transformations actuelles et le non-respect continu des droits civiques ont conduit à de nombreuses tensions, illustrées par le mouvement #EndSars au Nigeria, YenAMarre au Burkina-Faso, ou le mouvement des Gilets Jaunes en France, pour n'en citer que quelques-uns. Ces processus montrent qu'il est nécessaire de renforcer le dialogue et l'apport de nouvelles idées concernant les systèmes politiques. Si nous sommes d'accord pour dire que la démocratie repose sur des principes universels, nous pensons qu'il existe différentes manières de l'aborder. Notre concours d'écriture rassemblera et récompensera les visions utopiques innovantes pour les démocraties futures développées par les Africains (sur le continent et dans la diaspora). Ces visions doivent être soumises sous forme d'essais de 4000 à 7000 caractères. Les sujets des essais peuvent être choisis librement. From July 31 to October 10, 2021, in the framework of the 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐭 𝐟ü𝐫 𝐝𝐢𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐭, we are carrying out a Writing Contest. The aim of the competition is to encourage young people of African descent living in Africa and Europe to reflect about the topics of political systems and democracy on the African continent in written form. This project is based on the premise that we are in the middle of a worldwide political crisis. In most countries there is a rise of mistrust in the political elite and in the governments. The failure to adapt to the current transformations and the continuous disrespect of civic rights have led to numerous tensions, exemplified by the #EndSars Movement in Nigeria, YenAMarre in Burkina-Faso, or the Gilets Jaunes movement in France, to name just a few. These processes show that there is a need for more dialogue and input of new ideas regarding political systems. If we agree that democracy is based on universal principles, we do think that there are different ways of approaching it. Our writing contest will collect and award innovative utopian visions for future democracies developed by Africans (on the continent and in the diaspora). These are to be submitted in the form of essays of 4000 to 7000 characters. Essay topics can be chosen freely. Ziel des Wettbewerbs ist es, junge Menschen afrikanischer Abstammung, die in Afrika und Europa leben, dazu anzuregen, sich in Form schriftlicher Beiträge mit den Themen politische Systeme und Demokratie auf dem afrikanischen Kontinent auseinanderzusetzen. Dieses Projekt wird von der Annahme geleitet, dass wir uns mitten in einer weltweiten politischen Krise befinden. In den meisten Ländern wächst das Misstrauen in die politischen Eliten und in die Regierungen. Das Versagen der Politik, auf aktuelle Transformationen angemessen zu reagieren, und die ständige Missachtung der Bürgerrechte, haben zu zahlreichen Spannungen geführt, die durch das Aufkommen von Bewegungen wie #EndSars in Nigeria, YenAMarre in Burkina-Faso oder die Gilets Jaunes in Frankreich ausgedrückt werden. Diese Prozesse zeigen, dass ein stärkerer Dialog und das Einbringen neuer Ideen In Bezug auf politische Systeme notwendig sind. Auch wenn wir davon ausgehen, dass die Demokratie auf universellen Prinzipien beruht, denken wir doch, dass es verschiedene Wege gibt, sich ihr zu nähern. Unser Schreibwettbewerb möchte innovative utopische Visionen für die Zukunft der Demokratie, die von Afrikaner*innen (auf dem Kontinent und in der Diaspora) entwickelt wurden, sammeln und auszeichnen.
